Vintage Plate Stand for under $20!

I have been searching high and low for an affordable three tier plate stand, but $50+ was out of the question especially when I saw how easy it was to make myself!

Step 1:  Find three vintage plates of your choosing.  I searched antique malls, thrift stores, and yard sales for the perfect plates.  I spent a total of $6 for all three plates.

Step 2:   The only piece I had to order online was the small piece that connects them all.  It wasn't too expensive ($12) but it took a while to arrive.

Step 3:  In order to connect them I had to drill a hole in the center of all plates.  We used a simple diamond drill bit.  Be sure to add a little of lukewarm water to the plate to prevent the plate from cracking.

Someone is a little protective of his drill.  Not a problem I'll always take a little help.
Step 4:  Put it together by following the directions on the three tier stand hardware.

Step 5:  So happy to have my plate stand together!

Overall I spent less than $20 ($6 on plates and $12 for the hardware).  Not bad for such a cute serving stand!
